Juanita June Huffman, 83, of Jefferson City, Tennessee, formerly of Minier, Illinois, passed away on May 13, 2025, into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles D. (Ruth) Turek of Stanford, Illinois, and sister Ruthann (Jerry survives) Yeary of Winfield, Kansas.
Surviving is husband Randall L. Huffman (86); brother Charles J. (Carol) Turek of Hamilton, Missouri; sister Eleanor (John) Yeary of Beloit, Kansas; children David L. (Ruthann) Huffman of Portage, Michigan, John R. (Lori) Huffman of Knoxville, Tennessee (TN), Malinda S. (Paul) Johnson of Knoxville, TN; eight grandchildren, and four greatgrandchildren.
Juanita, born August 17, 1941, spent her early years in Hinsdale, Illinois (IL), on a 10 acre farm where they raised chickens and turkeys and attended Hinsdale schools, in her senior year they moved to Stanford, Illinois, where her father Charles operated a local grocery store. She graduated from Stanford High School, married, and started a family there. In a few years the family moved to rural Minier/Hopedale where Randall operated a livestock feed mill at Sutter Siding. They then moved between Minier and Armington, where Randall owned Huffman Farm Supply. Juanita spent a lot of time through the years gardening, helping others, and maintaining a good home life for her family.
She lived a life surrendered to the Lord and was involved in women’s Bible studies, church activities, and helping Randall in his businesses. In 1982 Randall and Juanita relocated to Jefferson City, Tennessee, after Randall purchased an Airwick franchise in Knoxville.
A visitation will be held on Saturday May 24 from 11 am to 1 pm, with reflections and remembrances by the family, at Haensel-Oswald funeral home in Minier, IL, followed by a graveside ceremony at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Stanford, IL.
