Judy Kay Steiner was born September 9, 1943 in Macomb, McDonough County, IL to Russell Wayne Sipes and Ruby Ilene (Lenover) Sipes. She died January 26, 2026, at the age of 82.
Judy graduated from Bardolph High School in 1961. She met Stewart Steiner while working at Bower Roller Bearing in Macomb and they were married in 1967, and he survives. They lived in the Macomb area for over seven years and moved to Minier in 1974.
Judy worked locally raising their two daughters, Deborah Kay (Steve) Mattingly and Tracy Lynn Steiner (deceased). She retired after 22 years at Travel Centers America and was a full time “Gramma” to Debbie’s two daughters, Autumn Beougher and Brittany (Jeremy) Burkhart, and their daughters: Aubrianna Beougher, Aliyanna Beougher, Adilynn Burkhart and Avery Burkhart.
Judy had one brother and five sisters, and their love of family has lasted well beyond the passing of their parents. Brother Jim Sipes and sister, Carol (Brian) Danner are deceased. Connie (Gene) Sikes, Pat (Gerald-deceased) Palm, Vicki (Jerry) Markley and Brenda (Jim) Friday survive with nieces, nephews, and in-laws too numerous to name.
Judy and Stewart were married 58 years and lived in the same home in Minier 51 years. They enjoyed U.S. travel and annual trips to the Missouri Ozarks. Judy became a diehard Cardinals fan and enjoyed trips to St. Louis to see “her boys” play in person. Judy was a saved member of the Liberty Baptist Church family and enjoyed the fellowship and worship there. Judy’s soul is now absent from the body and present with the Lord.
Her funeral will be at 12 noon Friday, January 30, 2026 at Haensel-Oswald Funeral Home in Minier.. Pastor John Horner will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Minier Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Multiple Sclerosis Society.
