Karen Strohl

Karen Strohl, 66, of Tremont, passed away Saturday, February 25, 2023 at her home. 

She was born September 25, 1956 in Denver, CO to Elmer and Mary Lewis Selman. She married her high school sweetheart,  Rick Strohl,  on August 28, 1976 in Morton, and he survives. 

Also surviving are one daughter, Krista Leigh Strohl of Tremont; one son, Jacob (Jen) Strohl of Tremont; three grandchildren, Kelsea Leigh Allred of Tremont, Alex Garcia of Tremont, and Connor Strohl of Bloomington; two brothers, Karl (Robin) Selman of Hopedale and Kirk Selman of Indiana; two sisters, Kathy (Charlie) Conley of TX and Kay Selman of TN; many nieces and nephews; and her sweet loving pup, Gus. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Eric Strohl in 2012. 

Karen graduated from Morton High School in 1975 and then graduated from Robert Morris College in Carthage as a dental assistant. She worked for Kevin Littlefield Orthodontics in Morton for 25 years where she took care of all the smiling faces. 

She attended Tremont United Methodist Church. 

She loved her flower gardens, mowing, spending time with her family, and going to her grandchildren’s events. She always put others before herself and always had a positive attitude. She was so proud of the community of Tremont  and the Tremont Turkey Festival. 

Her funeral will be at 12:00 noon Saturday, March 4, 2023 at Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Tremont. Pastor Dave Wolfe will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00 am-11:45 am Saturday prior to the funeral service. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Tremont.
