Pastor Keith R. Huff, 85, of Minier, passed away Friday, February 7, 2025 at the Arc of El Paso.
He was born January 1, 1940 in Minier to William “Gib” and Arly Raymer Huff. He married Carol Osman on August 28, 1960 in Lilly, and she survives.
Also surviving are his children, Debbie (Dave) Weeks of Bloomington, Rhonda (Ron) Gervais of San Juan Capistrano, CA, Diana Staub and Becky Huff, both of Minier; nine grandchildren, Ryan, Josh, Lauren, Erin, Haley, Lili, Naomi, Arryn, and Ezran; seven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Ben; one brother, Dean Huff; and one sister, Patricia Orr.
Keith graduated from Minier High School. He studied theology with Moody Bible Institute and Evangelical Church Alliance, and was ordained by Call to Worship Ministries, Inc in 1977.
He pastored at Mapleton Church for more than 30 years and was a well-respected man who centered his life around others. He also worked at GM & O Railroad, Hyster Co. in Peoria, Caterpillar Inc. in East Peoria, and owned and operated the Fireside Restaurant in Minier.
Keith was an avid bowler in his younger years, was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan, Fighting Illini fan, and enjoyed watching western movies. Keith participated in a Southern Gospel group called “Lilly Light” for over 40 years.
Keith lived his life for God, his family, and serving others. He was loved by many and will be deeply missed.
His funeral will be at 11:00 am Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at the Minier Christian Church. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm Monday, February 17 at Haensel-Oswald Funeral Home in Minier, and one hour before the service at the church. Burial will be in Minier Cemetery following the service.
