Ken Pflederer, 73, of Groveland, IL, surrounded by loved ones in prayer and worship, passed away peacefully on the evening of September 11, 2024, at Methodist Hospital in Peoria, IL. He had a courageous 2½-year battle with pancreatic cancer.
He was born on January 28, 1951, in Peoria, IL, to Harlan and Eloise Pflederer (Koch).
Ken was survived by his wife Becky Pflederer (Eubanks), his children Nat (Chrissi) Pflederer, Vanessa (Arron) Price, and his stepchildren, Connor Eubanks and Ashley Eubanks. “Papa Kenny” adored his grandchildren Evan (14), Benny (13), Zac (12), Mason (10), Royce (2), and baby Eloise (1 month), whose lives were filled with his love and wisdom and Papa Kenny adventures. Ken was also cherished by his siblings, Tom (Connie) Pflederer and Jackie (Jim) Petrov and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Ken spent his younger years as a missionary. First going to Papa New Guinea where he met Hope (Meckes) Yoder, his first wife and mother of his children. They then went to the mission field in Brazil where they ran a girl’s orphanage.
In 1990 Ken founded Computer Skills Enhancement, later known as CSE Software. He had a successful career, working alongside his trusted business partners, Renee Gorrell and Lara Aaron, in ventures that embodied not only his entrepreneurial spirit but his love for people.
He eventually met the love of his life, Becky, and they were married in May 2017. They continued to build relationships by investing in people and their community throughout their marriage. More than anything they enjoyed traveling, helping others, and dinners with family and friends. Everyone especially enjoyed when Ken cooked filets on his Traeger Grill.
Ken believed in God and confessed Him Lord over his life. He took every opportunity presented to share the gospel and had a way of drawing people in to listen.
A proud member of both the NRA and MAGA, Ken was passionate about his beliefs and spent his life standing up for the values he held dear. His hobbies and interests reflected his strong character, and he will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to helping others.
His funeral will be at 10:00am Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at Northfield Christian Fellowship in Tremont, IL. His brother, Tom Pflederer with officiate.
