Obituary
L. Ronald Ripper, 79, of Pekin, passed away Sunday, April 16, 2023 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
He was born February 18, 1944 in Tremont to Lawrence and Beryl Woods Ripper. He married Leslie Ann Mason on April 7, 1978 at the Faith Baptist Church in Pekin.
Surviving are his wife, Leslie Ripper of Pekin; his children, Mark Allen Ripper of Pekin, David Ryan (Dani Thiel) Ripper of Des Moines, IA, and Melissa Ann (Matthew) Meier of Dunlap; eight grandchildren; one brother, Calvin Ripper of Spring Lake; and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Richard Guile, LaVerne Fensterman, Alma Slack, Capie Wilkinson, Dale Ripper, and Fred Ripper.
Ronald worked at Caterpillar Inc in Morton for 36 years, retiring in 2003.
He was a member of Central Life Church in Pekin and loved bird watching and reading his Bible.
His funeral will be at 10:00 am Friday, April 21, 2023 at Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Tremont. Pastor Keith Moore will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Tremont.
