Larry Brown Obituary

Larry A. Brown, 83, of Tremont, passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at Reflections Memory Care in Morton.

He was born September 3, 1940 in Canton to Lawrence and Hazel Bishop Brown.  He married Carol Torok on June 3, 1972 in Peoria, and she survives.

Also surviving are his children, Trent (Julie) Brown of Hayward, WI, Brandon (Emily) Brown of Milwaukee, WI, and Cory (Victoria) Brown of Peoria; nine grandchildren, Grace, Annie, and Joe of Hayward, Cohen, Tegan, and Levi of Milwaukee, and Ainzley, Phoenix, and Reuben of Peoria.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Kerry; and two sisters, Janet and Barbara.

Larry worked at Caterpillar for 41 years.

He was a member of Imago Dei Church in Peoria, Tremont Sportsman’s Club, and a former member of the Peoria Chamber of Commerce.

He loved skiing, hiking, the mountains, music, cars, working with wood, and construction.

His funeral will be at 2:00 pm Saturday, January 6, 2024 at Imago Dei Church in Peoria.  Pastor Melinda Sparks Renner will officiate.  Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm Friday, and one hour before the service, both at the church.  A graveside service will be at 10:00 am Monday, January 8, 2024 at Parkview Cemetery in Peoria.  Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Tremont is handling the arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Imago Dei Church.
