Larry Joe Taylor Obituary

Larry Joe Taylor, 78, of Enterprise, AL, passed away Friday, December 20, 2024 at Flowers Hospital in Dothan, AL.

He was born July 18, 1946 in Hopedale to William A. and Bertha B. Gentry Taylor.  He was married to Mary Jean Wurster from 1971 to 1977.

Surviving are one daughter, Christine M. (Jason) Miller; son, Mathew D. (Marni Wooldridge) Taylor; two grandchildren, Dakota (Ashley) Miller and Lexi (Shane) Richards; two brothers, Robert (Kathy) Taylor and Jimmie Dean (Janet) Taylor; three sisters, Mary Kay Woodard, Carol (Homer) Payne, and Cheryl Ann (Jim) Webb; many nieces and nephews and extended family. He also leaves his Alabama family, Lula and Mike Haynes, their children, grandchildren, and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Ray, Richard, Lavelle, and Kenny; and three sisters, Donna Hoffman, Judy Rich, and Sandra Heinold; and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Larry Joe graduated from Tremont High School and served in the United States Army.

He was an over-the-road truck driver and was a huge fan of the University of Alabama, “Roll Tide” football and just about every collegiate football team, watched NBA, MLB, NFL , as well as NASCAR.

His funeral will be at 10:30 am Friday, January 3, 2025 at Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Tremont. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Tremont.

Memorials may be made to Tremont American Legion.
