Leland R. "Lee” Albers, 87, passed away Friday, October 10, 2025, at The Lodge at Manito. He was born October 15, 1937, to Richard and Lena Oltmanns Albers. He married Lucille Egglestone June 29, 1958, at San Jose First Methodist Church. She survives.
Surviving are daughter Lynn and son Neil (Shirley) Albers. Grandchildren Justin (Libby) Albers, Sarah Smith, and Austin (Tyler) Schrader. Great-grandchildren Anna, Brett, Adrian, Brant, & Tripp. Extended, family “Joe and Kathy Schrader.”
Preceded in death by his parents- Richard and Lena Albers and brother, Robert "Bob” Albers.
Leland was a dedicated farmer. He was in the National Guard, on the Board of Allens Grove Township, Member of the San Jose Lions Club for 50 years. He was also a member of the San Jose Tri-County Antique Tractor Club and San Jose United Methodist Church.
Leland found joy in life’s simplest pleasures. Fishing, hunting, restoring old tractors, and making his famous homemade cinnamon rolls and ice cream. He was known for his love of a good story and joke.
Graveside service will be held on Thursday, Oct. 16 at 11:15 am at Greenhill Cemetery in San Jose. Charlie McDonald will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Leader Dog School or San Jose United Methodist Church.
