Lillian Joyce Stout, 92, of Tremont, passed away Tuesday October 22, 2024, at Apostolic Christian Restmor in Morton.
She was born September 14, 1932 in Morton to Walter and Mabel Eaves Freidinger. She married James J. Stout in 1954 in Morton, and he passed away in July 1987.
She is survived by two sons, Charles (Jill) Stout of Tremont, Walter Stout of Bartonville; one daughter, Ann (Susan Nappi) Stout of Wellesley, MA; three grandchildren, Craig (Katilyn) Stout of Pekin, Kyle (Kacie) Stout of Tremont, and Jack (Taylor) Stout of Topeka, KS; five great grandchildren, Adalyn, Whitney, Kassian, Henry, and Charlotte Stout; one nephew, Fritz (Cathy) Freidinger of Glenview; and three nieces, Kathy Cooper Pflederer of Peoria, Karen (Scott) Cooper Eigsti of Morton, Inge (Steve) Freidinger Flinn of East Peoria, and numerous great and grand nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James J. Stout; brother and sister-in-law, Lester G. (Ellen) Freidinger; sister, Norma Miller; and nephew, Kevin Cooper.
Lillian was active in the Tremont Baptist Church since she moved from Texas to Tremont in 2000. She enjoyed playing in the handbell choir, being involved with the Tremont Baptist Women, and volunteering in many roles at the church. She also spent countless hours volunteering and visiting residents at Restmor over the years.
Lillian enjoyed her many travel adventures, which included trips to the Holy Land, Germany, Austria, England, France, the various national parks in the West, and South Padre Island, Texas. She also took cruises through the Panama Canal and to Alaska.
Family was very important to Lillian and she loved them deeply as they did her. She rescued multiple dogs and gave them dream lives.
The immediate family wants to send our deep appreciation and heartfelt thanks to the entire staff at Restmor, who not only did a wonderful job taking care of our much beloved mother, but also loved her as if she was a member of their own families.
A private service is being held.
