Amid the full sky of lightning and booming thunder, Linda Diane Christensen of Pekin, left this earth at 11:29 pm on Monday, July 15, 2024.
Linda was born April 26, 1965 in Peoria to Clare M. and Marlene Denman Christensen.
She was known to everyone to have an infectious and joyous personality and a smile for everyone. She never met a stranger and had the biggest and most generous heart. She literally had thousands of friends.
She was a proud graduate of Delavan High School, Class of 1983. She was a former member of Delavan Ambulance as an EMT and a member of Delavan American Legion Auxiliary Unit 382. She was a true animal lover, previously having horses, the mule, multitudes of cats and dogs.
She was creative and artistic, enjoying decorating and flower arranging. She was currently employed at Artistic Flowers in Pekin. She was previously employed at Liberty (Keystone) Steel in Bartonville and Mitsubishi (Diamond Star) in Bloomington.
Linda is survived by her partner, Ernie Runyon of Pekin and his supporting family; her brother, Martin Christensen of Delavan; her sister, Christine Christensen of Pekin; bonus sister, DeeDee Satterfield of Delavan; Aunt Sandra Denman of Delavan; nephews, Matthew (Lyndsey) Perry of Champaign, Andrew Christensen (Brittany Pham) of Peoria; bonus niece, Braylin (Zander) Curry with Noah, Kana, and Miles; niece, Tara Burrell and her son, Noah; cousins, Tammy (Kevin) Hill with daughters, Alysandra Hill and Aeryn Hill, Trudy (Chris) Schaffner with son Blake Schaffner and daughters, Charley Grace Schaffner, Claire and Chloe Schaffner; cousins Leisa (Mark) Plumb and Arden Libby of CA; Aunt Birdie McMakin; and a number of cousins from the McMakin Family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clare and Marlene Christensen of Delavan; her precious niece, Abbey Christensen of Delavan; Uncle Charles Denman of Delavan; Uncle Loyal Christensen and Aunt Rosemary Christensen of CA.
Her funeral will be at 10:00 am Monday, July 22, 2024 at Delavan United Methodist Church. Pastor Charles Graul will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 pm Sunday, also at the church. Burial will be in Prairie Rest Cemetery in Delavan. Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Delavan is handling the arrangements.
