Linda Howell

Linda Howell, 80, of Hopedale IL, formerly Brandon FL, passed away peaceful at the Hopedale nursing Home Thursday, November 30, 2023.  

She was born in New York September 1, 1943 to Eliot Howell and Blanche Koval Howell.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents and former husband, David Snider, the father of her children.  She is survived by her brother Eliot (Gisela) of Milton, DE; sister Susan Howell, Tampa FL; sister-in-law, Brenna Snider of Altadena, CA;  children, Elizabeth Goodlet, Cocoa FL, Richard Snider, Los Angeles, CA and John Snider (Melissa), Hopedale IL; and her grandchildren, Brody Goodlet, Gage Goodlet, Ellen Snider, and Lauryn Snider.

After graduating high school in NY, Linda attended Illinois Wesleyan, receiving her bachelor's degree in nursing.  She then spent the next 40+ years as a nurse.  Linda worked tirelessly caring for her family and her patients.  

Linda's greatest joy was her children, grandchildren and her patients.  Linda's hobbies included her many cats over the years, crocheting and needle point.  Linda also selflessly donated over 40 gallons of blood over her life.

The consummate caregiver, she will be missed by her family, friends and all the patients she cared for over the years.

A memorial service will be at 1:30 pm Sunday, December 10, 2023 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Minier.  Frank Zimmermann will officiate.  In lieu of a visitation, Linda's children will be hosting an open house style celebration of life from 3 to 5 at the Minier Tap. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery in Hopedale.  Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Tremont is handling the arrangements.
