Lisa Barner

Lisa Renee Barner, 57, of Pekin, passed away Thursday, February 22, 2024 at her home.

She was born January 3, 1967 in Bloomington to Robert and Connie Southerland Sablotzke.  She married David Barner on June 4, 1988 in Minier, and he survives.

Also surviving are four sisters, Marcia (Les) Wilwerding of Michigan, Robin (Steven) Clark of North Carolina, Missy (Albert) Bugbee of Rockford, and Angela (Sherif Osman) Lauritson of North Carolina; two stepbrothers, Kenny (Sara) Lauritson of Texas and Kevin Lauritson of Illinois; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Lisa worked in healthcare in Missouri for nine years.

She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Minier.

Lisa and David worked in the missionary field in Missouri for 24 years. She loved to sing and was a member of the gospel group, Gospelites, which sang at many camp revivals. Her heart was serving the elderly.

Her funeral will be at 2:00 pm Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Tremont.  Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm Tuesday, also at the funeral home.  Cremation will be accorded following the service.

Memorials may be made to her husband, David Barner.
