Lois Bale Obituary

If you're about to tell a joke, stop and consider: Lois Jean Bale who entered eternal life on Tuesday October 18, 2022. Her spirit is carried on by her four children, 10 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.  We were blessed to learn many wonderful stories, poems and jokes from Lois during her 86 years, among us:

Jokes: It is so hot that the chickens are laying hard boiled eggs and the trees are whistling for the dogs
Poems: The poem Hands of Time was recited from memory to many who had the privilege to hear  “The hands of time are wound but once and no man has the power to tell just when the hands will stop, so live, love, toil with a will, place no faith in tomorrow, for the hands may then be still
The Touch of the Masters Hand – And many a man with life out of tune, and battered and scarred with sin is auctioned cheap. But the Master comes, and the foolish crowd never can quite understand the worth of a soul and the change that’s wrought by the touch of the Master’s hand
Stories: Lois cared for a gentleman as a nurse who was homeless, needed a haircut and clothes. She brought him home from the hospital, fed him, clothed him and had her husband Jim give him a haircut. This gentleman was then driven to a relative’s home to reside.

Above all Lois had a huge presence wherever she went and loved Jesus who changed her life. Lois would often tell you to “Let Go and let God”. She was always ready to tell you about her wonderful Savior. She loved people and was quick to make you feel loved and welcomed.

She is survived by her spouse Jim who she celebrated 66 years, children and grandchildren whose photos she would share with prospective friends in the checkout line: Debbie (husband Dennis, children Michelle and Jill); Shelly (husband Dale, children Jeremy, Katelyn, Kristen and Bryan; Tim (wife Brenda, children Taylor and Brooke); Todd; (wife Lisa, children Zach and Selese); and many friends and family too numerous to list but not forgotten.

Celebration of Life Services will be Tuesday, October 25, 2022 from 11-2:30 pm with the service following at 3pm. Pastor Charles Graul will officiate. Services will be held at the United Methodist Church in Delavan IL.  Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Delavan is handling the arrangements.
