Lottie Jean Knapp

Lottie “Jean” Smith Brummett Knapp, 92, of Tremont, passed away Sunday, August 18, 2024 at Carle Health Methodist Hospital in Peoria.

She was born March 29, 1932 to Henry and Effie Smith.  She married Dorren “Judy” Brummett on January 8, 1949 and he passed away.  She later married Kenneth Knapp on December 3, 1988, and he preceded her in death. 

She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, Richard Brummett; three sisters, Alice Jones, Mary “Hassie” Smith, and Marie Allen; three brothers, William Smith, Roy Smith, and Sam Smith; and one great granddaughter, Kalah Perdue.

Surviving are one sister, Annie Allen of Mississippi; one daughter, Lynn (Bob) Davis of Tremont; five grandchildren, Tracy (Tim) Perdue of Tremont, A’Lissa Brummett of Morton, Chris (Monica) Kinsey of Oxford, MS, Nick (Melissa) Kinsey of Tremont, and Heather (Andrew) Vanderford; 10 great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren.

She was a member of Tremont Baptist Church, enjoyed bowling and flower arranging.

Jean was a homemaker and was a waitress at Seven-Acres in Tremont.

Cremation has been accorded.  A private graveside service will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery with Pastor Noah Lee officiating  There will be no visitation.  Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Tremont is handling the arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Tremont Baptist Church.
