Louise Waddell

Louise Waddell, 95, of Tremont, passed away Sunday, August 25, 2024 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.

She was born March 3, 1929 in Kincaid to Angelo and Stella (Margelli) Antonini.  She married William D. Waddell on August 14, 1948 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin, and he survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Susan Clemens of Pekin and Crystal (Carl) Soderstrom of Morton; eight grandchildren, Natalie Clemens, William “Wes” (Claire) Clemens, Chelsi (C.J.) Carlin, Carl David (Jennifer) Soderstrom, Robert (Soyun) Soderstrom, Steve Soderstrom, Erik Soderstrom, and John Soderstrom; 11 great grandchildren; three siblings, Della (James “Ink”) Thomas of Pekin, Richard “Dick” (Kay) Antonini of Nevada, and Donna (Bob) Henderson of Mackinaw.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Randy Waddell; one granddaughter, Ashley Waddell; two brothers, Adolph and Eugene; and one son-in-law, Robert “Bob” Clemens.

Louise worked at Caterpillar Inc., Standard Brands, Mauer & Matthew as a realtor, and was a devoted homemaker and farm wife.

She loved golfing, playing cards, aerobics, crafting, and wintering in Florida for over 30 years, but most of all, Louise loved spending time with her family.

She was a devout member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin, where her funeral mass will be at 10:00 am. Thursday, August 29, 2024.   Fr. Michael Andrejek will officiate.  Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm Wednesday at Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Tremont with a rosary service at 5:30 pm.  Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
