Lyndell Bowman

Lyndell Vernon Bowman, 58, of Delavan, passed away Monday, August 7, 2023 at OSF St. Frances Medical Center in Peoria.

He was born November 20, 1964 in Kansas City to Loren M. and Frances Forman Bowman Sr.  He married Denessa Wyatt on September 1, 2000, and she survives.

Also surviving are one son, Kirk Bowman of Kansas; three stepchildren, Nicholas Dohrman of Jacksonville, FL, April (Nicholas) Alberts of Emden, and Amos (Jessica) Cox of North Pekin; eight grandchildren; siblings, Loren M. (Anna) Bowman, Jr of St. Louis, MO, Laurel (Helen) Bowman of CA, and Lalita (Davis) Creighton of FL; and niece, Katherine “Katie” (Kevin) Ruegge of St. Louis, MO.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one granddaughter, Chloe.

Lyndell worked at Caterpillar Inc. for many years as a hydraulic engineer manager.

He was a member of Crosswalk Fellowship in Delavan and coached the football team at Christian Life Academy in Hopedale. 

He enjoyed sports, fishing, and the outdoors.

His funeral will be at 5:00 pm Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at Crosswalk Fellowship in Delavan.  Pastor Mike Walker will officiate.  Visitation will be from 3:00 to 4:45 pm Tuesday at the church.  Cremation will be accorded following the service.  Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Delavan is handling the arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the Animal Protection League in Springfield.
