Margaret Auxier

Margaret Ann Auxier, 79, of Delavan, passed away Saturday, March 4, 2023 at Pekin Manor. 

She was born December 26, 1943 in Pekin to Oliver John and Dorothy Ann Cole Mount.  She married Douglas O. Auxier June 5, 1966 at the Delavan United Methodist Church, and he survives. 

Also surviving are her children, Lisa (Todd) Bale and Mary Auxier, both of Delavan; two grandchildren, Zack and Selese Bale; and one brother, Willis (Diana) Mount of Pekin. 

She was preceded in death by her parents. 

Margaret worked at the Tazewell County Bank in Delavan until starting a family, which was her greatest joy.  In 1986, she worked at the Delavan High School cafeteria until her retirement. 

She was a member of the Delavan United Methodist Church and was active in the Nursing Home-Shut-in Ministry. She enjoyed crocheting and had a lifelong love of animals, especially her cats. She also served on the Ladies Prairie Rest Cemetery and Mausoleum Board and was a member of the Delavan Threads of Love Chapter. 

A memorial service will be at 3:00 pm Sunday, March 12, 2023 at Delavan United Methodist Church.  Pastor Charles Graul will officiate.  Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:45 Sunday at the church.  Entombment will be at Prairie Rest Mausoleum at a later date. Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Delavan is handling the arrangements. 

The family would like to thank all those in healthcare that provided loving and compassionate care for Margaret over the past years.
