Marian Ruth Pleines

Marian Ruth Pleines, 83, of Minier, passed away Sunday, December 29, 2024 at Hopedale Nursing Home.

She was born April 14, 1941 in Congerville to Deneil and Eddis Hasty Thompson.  She married Kenneth D. Pleines on November 5, 1960 and he passed away February 13, 2012.

Surviving are her children, Robert Pleines of Minier, Kevin Pleines of  Minier, Ronda (Patrick) Boehm of Mackinaw, Dennis (Stephanie) Carrell of Tower Hill; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Mary Catherine Houk and Helen Carrell.

Ruth graduated from Mackinaw High School and worked at Eureka Williams for 32 years.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hopedale and TOPS, Mackinaw Chapter.  She was an avid Cubs fan.

Her funeral mass will be at 11:00 am Saturday, January 4, 2025 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hopedale.  Fr. Geoff Horton  will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:45 am Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Minier Cemetery.
