Marie Dailey Obituary

Mary “Marie” Dailey, 82 of Havana, formerly of Mackinaw passed away Wednesday June 25, 2025, at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset Kentucky.

She was born October 24, 1942, in East Prairie, Missouri to David and Mabel Branam Bowles. She married Michael Dailey November 18, 1961, in Hopedale, and he passed away January 25, 2020.

Surviving are one son, Scott (Deb) Dailey of Havana; one daughter, Sandra (Larry) Paulos of Somerset, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Addison, Shelby, Jeremiah, Jesse, and Zachary; 10 great grandchildren; also surviving are two sisters, Connie (George) Belt of Smithland, Kentucky and Karen Kester of Sequim, Washington; and many nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; infant brother, Joe Robert; brothers, Larry, Lloyd, and Louis Bowles; and one sister, Paula Rutz; a great grandson; a brother-in-law; and her little dog, Sadie. 

Marie was a CNA for 16 years working at the Hopedale Medical Complex and Apostolic Christian Restmor in Morton.

She was a hard worker and a natural caregiver.  She loved caring for the residents at the nursing home. She also took pride in babysitting all of her grandkids. She loved mowing, gardening, yard work, reading cookbooks, cooking for her family, doll collecting, and puzzles. 

Her funeral will be at 11:00 am Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at Living Hope Community Church in Hopedale.  Pastor Roger Springer will officiate.  Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm Tuesday at the church.  Burial will be in Orendorff Cemetery in Hopedale.  Oswald Funeral Home in Tremont is handling the arrangements.

Memorial may be made to St. Jude Midwest Affiliate.
