Marilyn Cremeens Obituary

Marilyn Martin Cremeens, 82, of Hopedale, passed away at 11:24 pm Thursday, February 27, 2020 at her home.

She was born on October 9, 1937 to Sylvester E. “Si” and Ruth O. Haning Imig. She married Edward L. Martin on July 1, 1956 in Hopedale and he passed away on June 25, 2002. She later married Ronald Cremeens on March 5, 2005 in Hopedale and he survives.

Also surviving are one son, Brian (Cheryl) Martin of Green Valley; one step son, Rick Cremeens of San Francisco, CA; two daughters, Brenda Malavolti of Pekin and Kathy Jeckel of Mackinaw; one step daughter, Rhonda Cremeens of Cave Creek, AZ; eight grandchildren, Tony, Tyler, Mallory, Payton, Noah, Riley, Breanne, Jacie, and three foster grandchildren; four great grandchildren, Thaden, Scarlett, Braden, Lydia; one brother, Carroll (Phyllis) Imig of Hopedale; two sisters, Donna (Melvin) Pleines  and Judy (Eddie) Howard, both of Hopedale.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She worked at Hopedale Community Bank in Hopedale for 36 years retiring in 2006.

Marilyn was active in the Hopedale United Methodist Church and enjoyed volunteered at the Hopedale 4th of July events.

She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, attending her grandchildren’s school events, playing cards and traveling.

A Celebration of Life will be at 1:30 pm Monday, March 2, 2020 at Hopedale United Methodist Church. Pastor Carl Johnston will officiate. A visitation will be from 11:30 am to 1:15 pm before the service at the church. Burial will be at Orndorff Cemetery in Hopedale. Davis-Oswald Funeral Home is handle the arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
