Marilyn Sanderson Obituary

Marilyn June Sanderson, 81, of Pekin, formerly of Delavan, passed away Thursday, April 7, 2022 at Hallmark House Nursing Center in Pekin. 

She was born November 6, 1940 in Pekin to Charles L. and Etta Mahr Sidell.  She married Billy Lee Sanderson on September 30, 1962 in Pekin, and he passed away August 17, 2010. 

Surviving are her children, Dennis (April) Sanderson of Sandwich and Tracie (Steve) McConnell of Delavan; four grandchildren, Brian (Amanda DeGrush) McConnell or Peoria, Gina (Jonathan) Messer of Redondo Beach, CA, Erin McConnell of Jacksonville, FL, and Amanda Sanderson of Sandwich; and one brother, Gary (Gloria) Sidell of Morton. 

She was preceded in death by her parents. 

Marilyn was involved with the first group of surgical technicians that went through training at the Pekin Hospital.  She worked at Hunter Manufacturing in Mackinaw and  did in-home babysitting in Delavan. 

She was a member of Prairie Bible Church in Delavan, Ladies Prairie Rest Cemetery Association, and Delavan Home Extension. 

She enjoyed playing a variety of games including, Bingo and cards. She also was a member of Cro-knits in Delavan, where they make hats and scarves. 

Her funeral will be at 11:00 am Monday, April 18, 2022 at Prairie Bible Church in Delavan.  Pastor Dan Larimore will officiate.  Visitation will be from 9:00 to 10:45 am Monday, April 18 at the church.  Burial will be in Prairie Rest Cemetery in Delavan.  Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Delavan is handling the arrangements. 

Memorials may be made to her church or Transitions Hospice.
