Marilyn Jean Thaller, 91, of Mackinaw, passed away Friday, July 26, 2024, at Carle Health Proctor Hospital.
She was born September 10, 1932, to Harlan and Letha Burden Schroeder. She married William “Bill” J. Thaller in 1950, and he passed away July 24, 2015.
Surviving are her children, Diana McCoy of Morton, Kathryn Oetzel of Gladstone, Oregon, Tina (Roger) Aupperle of Morton, and Robert Thaller of Mackinaw; six grandchildren, Heather (Tim) Parks of Spanish Fort, Alabama, Ryan (Roschelle) McCoy of Washington, Jacob (Lynn) Oetzel of Portland, Oregon, Summer (Ryan) Geist of Morton, Justin Thaller of Mackinaw, and Jordan Thaller of Deer Creek; 14 great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, Jack McCoy; and two brothers, Darrell and Carroll Schroeder.
Marilyn graduated from Deer Creek-Mackinaw High School, was a homemaker, and worked at Illinois Farm Bureau in Bloomington for over 25 years.
She was a beautiful, sweet, soft-spoken soul who loved cooking, art, literature, and spending time with her family.
She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Morton, where a funeral mass will be at 11:00 am Friday, August 2, 2024. Fr. Nick Conner will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. The burial will be in Mackinaw Township Cemetery. Haensel-Oswald Funeral Home in Mackinaw is handling the arrangements.
