Marjorie Eileen Donley, 91, of Delavan, passed away Friday, March 25, 2022 at Pekin Manor in Pekin.
She was born June 5, 1930 in Macoupin County to Harm J. and Minnie L. Converse Klokkenga. She married Walter James “Jim” Donley on February 4, 1951 at the First Presbyterian Church in Delavan. He passed away April 5, 2018.
Surviving are two sons, Brian James (Emily) Donley of Lafayette, IN and Brad William (Patty) Donley of Delavan; nine grandchildren, Hope (Ben) Gambrel, Jesse (Laura) Donley, Amy Donley, Jenny Donley, Tyler (Amanda) Donley, Katy (Kyle) Endress, Tres Donley, Erin (Adam) Reynolds, and Eileen Donley; 13 great grandchildren; three sisters, Anna Flexsenhar of Winthrop, IA, Joann (Roland) Lundy of Pekin, and Velma (Bruce) Schmidgall of Mackinaw; and one sister-in-law, Nellie Klokkenga of Pekin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Harm Klokkenga Jr and F. Paul Klokkenga; one infant sister, Doris; and one granddaughter, Billie Sue Klokkenga.
Marjorie worked at Donley Insurance in Delavan for 10 years and worked at Bergner’s in Pekin in the jewelry department.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Delavan where she served as Elder and on the church session. She was a member of the Delavan American Legion Auxiliary, the Delavan Bridge Clubs, and the Prairie Rest Cemetery Board.
She enjoyed reading and her plants.
Her funeral will be at 11:00 am Saturday, April 2, 2022 at First Presbyterian Church in Delavan. Pastor Stephanie McCullough will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm Friday and one hour before the church, both at the church. Burial will be in Prairie Rest Cemetery in Delavan. Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Delavan is handling the arrangements.
