Marvin J. Litwiller, 90, of Hopedale, passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2023.

Marv was born November 4. 1932 in Armington to Joe and Alma (Good) Litwiller. He married Beverly Pleines on December 7, 1963, in Hopedale, she survives.

He is also survived by five children- Rod (Diane) Litwiller of Tremont, Renee (Brent) Eichelberger of Hopedale, Greg (Sue) Litwiller of Hopedale, Lisa Miller of Tremont, Chad (Tanya) Litwiller of Tremont; 16 grandchildren- Zak and Zeke Litwiller, Taylor (Jordan) Gaither, Jacie (Spencer) Pratt, Amy (JT) Graf, Jake Eichelberger, Josie and Sam Litwiller, Logan, Gracie and Chloe Miller, Jack, Marvin, Charlie, Annabelle and William Litwiller; 6 great-grandchildren- Avie, Gemma and Tucker Gaither, Tessa Pratt, Sage and Cade Graf; sisters Dorothy Klassen, Loretta (Ed) Slaubaugh, brother Al (Marilyn) Litwiller, sister-in-law Dorthea Litwiller and brother-in-law Elmo Springer.

Marvin was preceded in death his parents, by two brothers; Lloyd and Glenn Litwiller, two sisters; Leona Slaubaugh and Irene Springer, sister-in-law Sarah Litwiller, and two brothers-in-law Aaron Slaubaugh and Walter Klassen.

He was a member of Hopedale Mennonite Church. He enjoyed playing ball, watching his kids’ and grandkids’ ballgames, spending time with family and friends, bike rides at Siesta Key, Canada fishing trips and playing Rook. He owned and operated Marv Litwiller and Sons Excavating for over 60 years, which his family still operates. Marv also enjoyed farming with Bev, driving tractors and operating his equipment.

Visitation is 3-5 p.m. on Sunday, September 24, 2023, and funeral will be Monday, September 25, 2023, at 10:30 a.m., both at Hopedale Mennonite Church. Burial will be at Mennonite Cemetery with a meal to follow at Living Hope Community Church in Hopedale. Memorials may be made to Hopedale Rescue Squad. Arrangements are being handled by Davis-Oswald Funeral Home.
