Mary Beutel Obituary

Mary B. Beutel, 69, of East Peoria, passed away Tuesday, May 18, 2021 surrounded by her family at her home. 

She was born December 8, 1951 in Chicago to Kenneth D. and Fay C. Schramm McGowan.  She married Kenneth Beutel on October 7, 1995 and combined their two families. 

Surviving are her husband, Kenneth of East Peoria; her mother Fay McGowan of Creve Coeur; two sons, F. Kenneth (Jamie) Hansen and Steven (Jessica Liddicoat) Beutel, both of Bartonville; two daughters, Tobi Haldeman of East Peoria and Angela Beutel of Pekin; six grandchildren, Kristina, Michael, Ashley, David, McGowan, and Jade; 10 great grandchildren; four sisters, Pat Herbrand, Laura (Bruce) Moore, JoAnne (Neil) Naples, and Roz (Bill) Wolfram; two brothers, Mike (Ciss) McGowan and Bruce (Ev) McGowan; 17 nieces and nephews; and 28 grand nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her father; two grandchildren, Brendan Vanover and Braydon Kiddy; one nephew; and one great niece.

Mary worked at Price Waterhouse in Peoria for 20 years and Hometown Banks in Tremont, Pekin, and Morton. 

She was a member of The Portage Lake Chicks in Cass Lake, MN, served as secretary for the Peoria Art Guild, and attended Saint Bernard’s and St. Monica’s Catholic Churches in Peoria. 

She enjoyed making memories with her family, sewing, trivia, Elvis, spending the summers in Minnesota, was an avid walker and enjoyed nature and feeding the birds. 

A memorial mass will be at 10:00 am Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at Saint Bernard’s Catholic Church in Peoria.  There will be no visitation.  Inurnment will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.  Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Tremont is handling the arrangements. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Midwest Affiliate.
