Mary Jane Seest

Mary Jane Seest, 79, of Sterrett, AL, formerly of Hopedale, passed away Friday, May 24, 2024 at her home.

She was born June 13, 1944 in Pekin to Hilton E. and Lois V. Beasley Reed.  She married Norman G. Seest on September 22, 1962 at Peoria Christian Center, and he passed away March 13, 2024.

Surviving are her children, Eric (Eleanor) Seest of Avon, IN, Thomas (Martha) Seest of Graysville, TN, Sarah Whitehouse of Highlands Ranch, CO, and Jeanette Wells of Sterrett, AL; 12 grandchildren;  four great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her stepfather, Donald P. Billingsly.

Mary Jane was a homemaker who enjoyed singing, sewing, and crocheting. She worked a few years at Indian Creek Physician’s Office in Hopedale and taught aquatics arthritis foundation classes at the Hopedale Wellness Center.

She was a member of the Bloomington Christian Fellowship and a member of the Lighthouse Society through Manito Baptist Church.

Her funeral will be at 3:00 pm Monday, June 3, 2024 at Living Hope Community Church in Hopedale.  Frank Brozenec will officiate.  Visitation will be from 1:30 to 2:45 pm prior to the service at the church.  Burial will be in Mennonite Cemetery in Hopedale. Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Tremont is handling the arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Christian Life Academy in Hopedale.
