Michael Boucher Obituary

Michael Boucher, age 83, of Mackinaw, passed away at his home on April 22, 2026.

Michael was born December 27, 1942 in Sedalia, Missouri, to Edgar and Virginia Boucher.

After serving as a Marine in the Vietnam War, Michael joined The Carpenter’s Union in Peoria, IL.

Michael welcomed two wonderful boys, Brett and Jeff, during his first marriage. He later married his eternal companion Nancy Smalley at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Morton, IL.  He was a great father to her five beautiful children Kathy, Kristen, Billy, Josh and Jake. Together they brought two families together and welcomed two more children, Todd and Tori.

They settled in Manito, IL where he worked as Superintendent for the Spring Lake Drainage and Levee District.

Preceding him in death were his parents, his sister Jane Siwak of Petersburg, two sons Josh and Jake, and one grandson Peyton.

Michael was a devoted son, big brother, and father who made sure his family was always cared for and loved. He was highly involved in the Boy Scouts of America as Scout Master for over 20 years touching the lives of many boys and families.

He was an avid Chicago Bears fan and had a deep love for his country. He embodied patriotism and had great reverence for the American flag. Many travelers on Route 9 remember him raising and lowering the flag each day like clockwork. He enjoyed showing his grandkids his model trains in his train room.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy; three daughters; four sons; 22 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren.
