Miguel Inugay Obituary

Miguel Carlos Inugay, 72, of Tremont, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 3, 2021 at Unity Point Health Methodist in Peoria.

He was born August 22, 1948 in Cusco, Peru to Miguel and Esther Rojas Inugay. He married Beth Riggenbach on December 20, 1976 and she survives.

Also surviving are his children, Rosa Inugay of Lima, Peru and her children, Elizabeth, Maria, Rebekah and Sarah; Dorcas Inugay of Tremont and her son, Daniel; Miguel (Katie) Inugay of Tremont and their children, Addy, Taylor, Sam and Max; Marsha (Ernie) Reyes of Amarillo, TX; Koji (Elizabeth) Inugay of Fort Riley, KS and their children, Pandora, Eli and Wyatt. Also surviving are his siblings, Alfredo (Jenny) Inugay of Torrance, CA, Alicia (Guillermo) Yoshikawa of Lima, Peru, Irma (Conrad) Phelps of Cusco, Peru, Eva (David) Centeno of Lima Peru, Bertha (Koji) Akutsu of Tokyo, Japan and Pepe (Glenis) Inugay of Tokyo, Japan; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and many great friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Carmen (Jerry) Cano.

Miguel was a watch maker since he was 14 years old. He was the owner of Inugay Watch and Jewelry Repair and was able to fix about anything.

He was a driver for Rescue 702. He was a Spanish volunteer prison chaplain since 1985 and was named Illinois Department of Corrections Volunteer of the Year in 2017. He was a member of The Gideons International.

He enjoyed hunting, traveling, woodworking and fishing with his children and grandchildren.

He attended Northfield Christian Fellowship in Tremont, where his funeral will be at 11:00 am Saturday, May 8, 2021. Don Blair will officiate. A visitation will be from 5-7 pm on Friday at the church and from 10:00-10:45 am before the service on Saturday. Cremation will be accorded following the service.
