Moise Richardson Holmes, 23, of Groveland, passed away Saturday, November 9, 2024 at his home.
He was born December 28, 2000 in Les Cayes, Haiti. He is the son of James and Karol Glueck Holmes.
Surviving are his parents of Groveland; three brothers, Grant Holmes of Missoula MT, Brock (Cassidy) Holmes of Morton, Kruz Holmes of Groveland; two sisters, Jamee (Ben) Martin of Groveland, and Jade (Doug) Springer of Stanford; grandparents, Karl and Velda Glueck of Tremont and Marshall and Phyllis Holmes of Morton; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Jalayne Grace Holmes on September 7, 2009.
Moise attended Tremont Schools and Schramm Educational Center.
Moise faced many challenges in his life. He exemplified strength and bravery in the way that he endured the many pains and frustrations of his disabilities. He taught his family many valuable life lessons. Moise was blessed to spend the last seven months of his life living at Apostolic Christian Timber Ridge in Morton, IL. Moise loved swinging high on his special swing and swimming with family and friends. He touched the lives of countless people without ever being able to speak a word. Moise's presence will be greatly missed, but he is now able to walk, talk, see, and hear.
His funeral will be at 10:00 am Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at Northfield Christian Fellowship in Tremont. Matt Miller will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm Monday, also at the church. Burial will be in Apostolic Christian Cemetery in Tremont. Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Tremont is handling the arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to Apostolic Christian Timber Ridge in Morton.
