Nadine Palmer Obituary

Nadine Sue Palmer, 92, of Hopedale passed away and went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, September 15, 2025 at Hopedale Nursing Home.

She was born January 16, 1933 in Lima, OH to Herman and Carolyn Wenholtz Arnold.  She married Charles “Chuck” R. Palmer on October 5, 1951 in Davenport, and he passed away March 4, 2023.

Surviving are her children, Jonathan (Carol) Palmer of Tye Valley, OR, Elizabeth (Bill) Weiss of Lawrenceville, Nathan (Jeanie) Palmer of Hopedale, Timothy (Linda) Palmer of Pekin, Martha (Peter) Neils of Astoria, OR, and Seth (Shawn) Palmer of Seattle, WA; 21 grandchildren; many great great grandchildren; and one brother, Joseph Arnold of Virginia.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Susan Hendricks; four grandchildren, Becky, Gracie, and Benjamin Hendricks and Gretel Neils; one great granddaughter, Violet Buchanan; and one sister, Nancy Pike.

Nadine was a registered nurse at Hopedale Hospital for many years.

She was associated with the Plymouth Brethren Fellowship in Delavan.

She and Chuck enjoyed traveling throughout the country visiting their family.  They were involved in the band, Charlies Angels, where she played the piano and the violin at the Blind Center, Salvation Army, and at various nursing homes.

Her funeral will be at 11:00 AM Friday, September 19, 2025 at Crosswalk Fellowship in Delavan.  Her grandson, Andy Buchanan will officiate.  Visitation will be from 9:00 to 10:45 am Friday at the church.  Burial will be in Prairie Rest Cemetery in Delavan.  Oswald Funeral Home in Delavan is handling the arrangements.
