Coping with Grief

Nancy J. Litwiller, 78, of Morton, passed away December 7, 2023, at her home.
She was born February 7, 1945, in Columbus, IN to Joseph B. and Margaret L. Harvey FitzGibbon. She married Donald Litwiller on March 2, 1968, in Columbus, IN, and he survives.
Also surviving are one son, Derek Litwiller of Wilmington, NC; one granddaughter, Jordan (Tyler) Brown of Hampstead, NC; two great granddaughters; one sister, Sally Adair of New York City; and four nieces and three nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Brennon; one brother, Daniel FitzGibbon; one sister, Julie Stewart; and one nephew.
She attended Indiana University for one year. She was a homemaker and worked part-time at Witzig’s, Ben Franklin, and Lee’s Hallmark, all in Morton.
She was a member of East Peoria Mennonite Church.
Nancy and Don served two years in voluntary service through Mennonite Central Committee in Algeria from 1968-1970. She also volunteered on several committees at Trinity Church in Morton, and at Apostolic Christian Handicapped Home in Morton, and the Et Cetera Shop in Eureka.
She enjoyed oil painting and painted a number of lovely paintings.
Cremation has been accorded. A memorial service will be at 11:00 am Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Hopedale Mennonite Church. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 10:45 am before the service at the church. Burial of ashes has been accorded with Mennonite Cemetery in Hopedale. Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Tremont is handling the arrangements.
