Norma Jean Briggs Obituary

Norma Jean Briggs, 82, of Emden, passed away Saturday, October 16, 2021 at OSF St. Frances Medical Center in Peoria.

She was born August 6, 1939 in Green Valley to Herbert and Helen Woodruff Hilst. She married H. William Briggs on June 28, 1960 in Emden, and he survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Greg (Lori) Briggs of Tremont, Neil (Deb) Briggs of Erie, PA, and Mark (Nicole) Briggs of Emden; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Troy Clark.

Norma Jean taught grade school in Lincoln, Hartsburg, and Emden for 26 years.

She was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Emden and it’s Cross and Crown.

A family graveside service will be in Hartsburg Cemetery. Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Delavan is handling the arrangements.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
