Norman V. Stock

Norman V. Stock, 86, of Green Valley passed away Wednesday April 30, 2025, at his home. 

He was born September 28, 1938, in East Peoria to Ernst and Pearl Stock.  He married Georgene Calhoun June 7, 1964, in East Peoria and she passed away on July 4, 2022.

Norman was survived by one son, Norman “Nathaniel” Stock of Green Valley; two daughters, Stephanie Stock of Green Valley and Elizabeth (Drew) Fitzpatrick of Tremont; and, two grandchildren Elliott Fitzpatrick and Aidan Seward. 

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Norman served in the United States Army as a rifle expert and medical specialist. 

He worked for Caterpillar for 36 years, retiring in the 1990’s.  After retiring he became an over the road truck driver with his wife Georgene for another 20 years.  They enjoyed their time on the road seeing the United States.  He was a member of the masonic lodge and was a master mason.     

He enjoyed spending time with his family at home. 

In his early life, He enjoyed trout fishing on the Meramec River in Missouri and spending time hunting. 

Cremation rights have been accorded, a graveside service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday May 10, 2025, at Mount Hope Cemetery in Tremont.  Pastor Noah Lee will officiate.   Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Tremont is handling the arrangements.
