Patricia L. Grimm

Patricia L. Grimm, formerly of Tremont, Illinois, died Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at The Loft of Canton.

She was born December 15, 1932, in rural Tazewell County, Illinois, to Stanley L. and Clara Shoultz Thompson. She married Ralph E. Grimm in Normal, Illinois, on June 25, 1950. He passed away January 3, 2000.

She is survived by two daughters, Holly (John) Schurter of Lincoln, Illinois; Judy (Chris) McMillan of Hartsburg, Illinois; and three sons, Bill (Terri) Grimm of Pekin, Illinois; Ralph (Susan) Grimm of Canton, Illinois; and Tom (Shelley) Grimm of rural Glasford, Illinois, 21 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by one son, Mark Grimm, of Pekin.

Pat graduated from Normal Community High School, Normal, Illinois, and worked at a variety of jobs throughout her life, including over 35 years as an independent consultant for Home Interiors, but her favorite job was homemaker. She was active in the community as a member of Tremont Garden Club, and faithfully helped with the Tremont Turkey Festival. She delighted in decorating her home, celebrating holidays, gardening, and being part of her children’s and grandchildren’s lives.

Pat was a member of Tremont United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School, served on various committees and boards, took part in Bible studies, worked with the Food Pantry, and served on the Turkey Festival Food Line for many Turkey Festivals.

Visitation will be at Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Tremont from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Sunday. Her funeral will be held at Tremont United Methodist Church at 2:00 Monday. Rev. Larry Frank will officiate.
