Patricia L. Hazelman

Patricia Lou “Pat” Hazelman (née Waldo), of Normal, Illinois, passed away on February 2, 2026, at the age of 79. 

Born on August 13, 1946, in Peoria, Illinois, Pat was the daughter of Frank and Velda “Babe” Waldo (Walker). She graduated from Peoria High School with the class of 1964 and went on to build a fulfilling career marked by dedication and professionalism. Pat worked for many years with a State Farm agent in Tremont before concluding her career at Elliff, Keyser, Oberly, and Dancy in Pekin. She retired in 2003.

Pat was deeply involved in her community and took pride in her affiliations. She was a member of the Tremont Quadniters HCE Unit, the Tremont #1236 American Legion Auxiliary, and the Pekin Chapter Women of the Moose #916. These organizations reflected her commitment to service and camaraderie.

Outside of work and community involvement, Pat found joy in a variety of hobbies that brought beauty and relaxation into her life. She had a passion for gardening and bead weaving, creating beautiful jewelry that showcased her creativity and attention to detail.  She and Ed enjoyed spending winters in Florida where they could embrace warmer weather and leisure, including golfing and joining friends for happy hour at Camp Florida.

Pat’s greatest joy came from her family. She is lovingly remembered by her daughter Deb Weir (Todd), son Doug Hazelman, and grandchildren Shelby Hospelhorn, Ryan Hospelhorn, and Kyleigh Weir. Her extended family includes several nieces and nephews as well as great-nieces and great-nephews who will cherish their memories of time spent with her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward Hazelman; her brother, Terry Waldo; sister, Jeanette Wohrley; and her parents Frank and Velda “Babe” Waldo.

Pat’s warmth, creativity, and enduring spirit will be missed by all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to those who loved her.

Her visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm Sunday, February 8, 2026 at Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Tremont.  There will be no service.  Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Tremont at a later date.

Memorials can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Alzheimer's Association.
