Patricia “Patti” Mueller, 75, of Peoria passed away Saturday, December 31, 2022 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.
She was born April 29, 1947 in Bloomington to Raymond and Fern (Riley) Maxwell. She married Jan Mueller on November 28, 1970 in Bloomington, and he survives.
Surviving are her children, Brian (Rilie) Mueller of Greenwood Village, CO and Jill (Jeff) Huitsing of Carmel, IN; three grandchildren, Lauren, Andrew, and Kate.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She graduated from Bloomington High School in 1965 and then attended Illinois State University where she obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education in 1969. She worked at the Mendota School District for one year then taught at Mossville Grade School for four years.
Patti volunteered at the Junior League of Peoria, at the Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary for 25 years, where she received an Award of Excellence in 2014, and volunteered with Lutheran Social Services as a tutor.
She was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Peoria where she served as a Sunday school teacher, Bible school teacher, and was on the Compassion and Concern Committee, doing funeral meals for many years. She was also a member of PEO Chapter R.
She loved her family dearly; her husband, children, and grandchildren were very special to her. She enjoyed traveling and family vacations.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
