Patricia Wittrig Obituary

Patricia Jean Wittrig, age 78, of Hopedale died at 4:14 am, Sunday, July 13, 2025 at her home in Hopedale, Illinois.

Born December 23, 1946, in Pekin, Illinois to Hubert and Lois Marshall Brown.  She married Gene Howard Wittrig (deceased) on May 18, 1968 in South Pekin, Illinois. She is survived by her second husband, Donald J Warner. 

Also surviving are, her three daughters, Therese Jean Nappier (Rick Schendel) of Sarasota, FL, Tymberley A (Brandon) Whitesel of Mechanicsburg, PA, Tonya Lynn (Paul) Copelin of Tacoma, WA, and step-daughter, Karen Draper of Champaign IL; 4 grandchildren; 1 step granddaughter; and 1 great granddaughter; 3 sisters Nora Nelson, Roberta (Linton) Chism, Sandra (Ron) Taylor.

She is preceded in death by her parents and first husband, Gene Wittrig. 

Patricia worked for the United States Department of Agriculture Farm Service Agency for Tazewell County and McLean County for 33 years as a Program Technician.  She was one of the founding members of South Pekin Mennonite Church where she worked with children and youth from 1965 to 1983.  Most recently, she was a member of the Hopedale Mennonite Church and enjoyed working in the nursery, quilting and many other activities.

A memorial service will be at 10:00am Tuesday September 2, 2025 at Hopedale Mennonite Church.  Burial will be in Mennonite Cemetery in Hopedale.  There will be a time of fellowship and sharing with family following the service.
