Randy Myers

Randy Myers, 67, of Springfield passed away January 13, 2026 at Springfield Memorial Medical Center. 

He was born June 25, 1958 in Bloomington IL to Richard "Bob" and Evelyn Schmidgall Myers.  He married Carla Brown on October 22, 2007, in Branson MO and she survives. 

Randy is survived by his three sons, Brandon Myers, Calvin (Sydni) Myers, and Austin (Fiancé Katie) Myers; one stepson Robbie (Katie) Newell; one sister Rita (Randy) Springer; Stepfather Bob Deterts; two stepbrothers, Gary (Tamy) Deterts and Dean (Rita) Deterts; one niece Renee (Husband Todd Holsopple) Springer; and thirteen grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and one nephew Craig Springer. 

In 1977 Randy graduated from Olympia High School where he enjoyed his years playing football.  

He enjoyed many years behind the wheel as a truck driver.  Most recently working for County Materials in Springfield. 

Randy loved spending time on the golf course.  He was an extremely outgoing person who loved people and telling a good joke.  He was someone who never knew a stranger. 

He was a devoted member of the Real Life Church in Springfield.

His funeral will be at 11:00 am Saturday January 17, 2026 at Hopedale Mennonite Church.  Pastor Clint Cook will officiate.  Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:45 am also at the church.  Burial will follow at Mackinaw Township Cemetery.  Davis Oswald Funeral Home in Tremont is handling the arrangements.
