Raymond Billy Potter, 83, passed away December 20, 2025 at Timber Creek Rehab in Pekin, IL.
He was born October 24, 1942 in Peoria, IL to Lyle and Lillie Mouson Potter. He married Margie Rhoads on September 30, 1963 in Mackinaw, IL. He later married Marlene Broadfield in Minier on April 30, 1994. She preceded him in death on December 21, 2000.
Surviving are two sons; two daughters; one sister Susan Shaw of Pekin; one brother Steve Moritz of Roanoke, IL; and 9 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Dorothy Potter, Francis Tyler, Ginnie Boatman, and Gloria Carpenter; and three brothers.
Ray worked for the Cat Tractor Company for 33 years before retiring in 1996. He also worked in police work in the 60’s and 70’s in Minier.
He was a member of the United Auto Workers Local 974 in East Peoria.
He enjoyed camping, fishing and woodworking.
A private family graveside service will be held at a later date.
