Rebecca “Becky” J. Lhamon, 72, of Hopedale, passed away Thursday, March 27, 2025 at Hopedale Hospital Emergency Room.
She was born May 24, 1952 in Peoria to Russell Dean and Margaret Tavenner Sosamon. She married Larry Lhamon on December 29, 1985 in Homosassa, FL and he passed away July 10, 2021.
Surviving are her two sons, Nate (Carla) Troyer of Las Vegas, NV and Brent (Laura) Troyer of Conway, AR; two step-children, Gregory (Deidre) Lhamon of Waterloo, IL and Traci (Steven) Lindhart of Tampa, FL;12 grandchildren, Brody, Chance, and Amelia Troyer, Austin (Tiffany) Tosh, Bryan (Lyndsay) VanDyke, Meaghan (Derek) Kaiser, Samantha, Annelise, and Abby Leber, Rafe Lindhart, Bree (Nicholas) Lindhart Avery, Taylor and Rachel Lhamon; six great grandchildren; Siblings, Michael (Antonia) Sosamon of Chula Vista, CA and Christine (Wendel) Hoffman of Delavan; one special aunt, Irene Dawson of Farmer City; several nieces and nephews, lots of cousins, and many friends; her best friend of almost 50 years, Brenda Lacefield of Hopedale; last but not least, her beloved dog companion, Ralphie.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Becky and Larry owned and operated the Cove Restaurant in Hopedale for many years, was a waitress at Gil’s Restaurant for many years, last working, at Eilts Electric in Hopedale.
She enjoyed being outside and working in her yard. She loved family and friends gathering at her house for Fourth of July celebrations. She especially loved it when she got to spend time with her grandchildren. She was looking forward to traveling to Little Rock to meet her new granddaughter, Amelia. She was a very proud Meemaw.
Her funeral will be at 10:00 am Thursday, April 3, 2025 at Living Hope Community Church in Hopedale. Pastor Roger Springer will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm Wednesday, also at the church. Burial will be in Orendorff Cemetery in Hopedale. Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Tremont is handling the arrangements.
