Obituary
Robert (Bob), age 69, of Minier Illinois, died Monday, April 3, 2023. Born July 2, 1953, in Lovelock, Nevada, he is the son of Mary Margaret (Nee: Ramsey) and William Sherman, Sr. He married Dianne Kirschner, November 5, 1994.
Bob served in the Navy in the early 1970's, a Vietnam Veteran. He is a graduate of George Mason University in Fairfax Virginia. He attended Christian Theological Seminary in Indianapolis Indiana, receiving a Master of Divinity, while working at USA Group full time. Bob worked at USA Group for 10 years with perfect attendance.
Many will remember Bob for his quick humor and silly hats. Bob loved baseball. He was a life-long St. Louis Cardinals fan. Bob was a loving and devoted pastor to his congregations and anyone in need.
Bob is survived by his wife, Dianne; a daughter, Jennifer Sherman; three grandchildren, Tyler Wagner, RaeAnne (Hinders) DeLaGarza and Kylie Hinders; two brothers, William and Frank.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Lorraine; and a brother, Richard.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 13, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's United Church of Christ in Minier IL. Reverend Tom Norwalk will officiate. Burial will take place at a later date.
Memorials can be made to St. John's UCC, to be used as a community fund for those in need or for special special projects within the church in memory of Bob.
