Richard Eugene Brummett, 72, of Tremont, passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, in his home.
He was born in Jerseyville, IL on December 1, 1951 to Darron “Judy” and Lottie “Jean” Smith Brummett. Richard married Karen Zehr on April 22, 1972.
He is survived by his mother, Jean Knapp of Tremont; his children, Tracy (Tim) Perdue of Tremont and A’Lissa Brummett of Morton; five grandchildren, Harli Perdue of Tremont, Presley (JT) Lewis of East Peoria, Tagan Toft of Florida, Brody Toft of Morton, and Drea Toft of Morton; four great grandchildren, Kinzleigh Perdue, Jett Lewis, Kirstein Perdue-Peters, and Corbin Siens; sister, Teresa Lynn (Bob) Davis of Pekin.
He was preceded in death by his father; stepfather, Ken Knapp; and one granddaughter, Kalah Perdue.
Richard worked at Morton Metal Craft , Glass Specialty in Peoria for many years, founded Auto Glass of Illinois in Peoria, and founded ZGlass in Washington. He was a “jack of all trades” doing miscellaneous work for many people.
He loved fishing, playing guitar in the band Abaddon, and spending time with his grandchildren.
A private service will be held. Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Tremont is handling the arrangements.
