Richard Neal Small, 87, of Eureka, formerly of Hillsboro, Illinois passed away Tuesday January 2, 2024 at his home.
He was born March 30,1936 in St. Louis, MO to Eaphrim and Lillian Cook Small. He married Margaret Wilson on June 29, 1957. He later married Joyce Rhoades in 1995.
Surviving are his children, Lissa Small of South Dakota and Mark (Jamie) Small of Mackinaw; four grandchildren, Bruce Weihsmantel of Minneapolis, MN, Christopher Small of Mackinaw, Douglas (Amanda) Small of O’Fallon, MO, and Taylor Small of Mackinaw; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Connie Bauer of Andover, MN.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his two wives; one sister, Joanne; and one brother, James.
Richard worked as a school administrator for many years.
He enjoyed golf, volunteered for many civic organizations in the area.
He was an active member of the Eureka Methodist Church.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Haensel-Oswald Funeral Home in Mackinaw is handling the arrangements.
