Richard "Bud" Johnson Obituary

Richard “Bud” L Johnson, age 87, of Delavan, peacefully left this life with his family by his side and went to be with his Lord and Saviour on Friday, December 10, 2021

He was born May 10, 1934 in Kirby, Arkansas, the son of Claude Johnson and Amy Mitchel Johnson

On September 11, 1954, he was married to Ina Ray Stewart, who preceded him in death after nearly 60 years of marriage on September 9, 2014.

He was also preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Alice Ames and Shirley Hudgins.

Bud worked as an electrical lineman for 30 years which brought the family to Illinois from Arkansas. After retiring from electrical line work, Bud traveled through 47 states as a million mile semi truck driver until retirement in 2014.

Bud was dearly loved by his family, friends and all who were able to hear about his many adventures in life. Bud and Ina had a deep faith in God as a couple started and supported many churches and ministries. His roles included trustee, teacher, song leader and soul winner.  He loved to share with others the many ways God had worked in his life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by five children, Deb (Clyde)Back of Montague Tx, James (Amy) Johnson of Mackinaw, IL, Clifton (Leanne) Johnson of Gravette AR, Donna (Bob) Waters of Mackinaw, IL and Dan (Tanya) Johnson of Creve Coeur, IL, 22 Grandchildren, 72 Great Children and 9 Great Great Grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 18th, at Park Meadows Baptist Church, Lincoln IL. Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Tremont is Handling the arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to Park Meadows Baptist Church Truck Stop Ministry.
