Richard "Dick" H. Temple

Richard “Dick” H. Temple, 82, of Delavan, passed away Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at Mason City Area Nursing Home.

He was born April 24, 1941 in Delavan to Franklin and Virginia Yarrington Temple.  He married Carolyn “Corky” Gunterman on February 11, 1961 in Delavan, and she passed away September 6, 2013.

Surviving are his daughters, Leah (Jeff) Johnson, Jody (Brian) Burrell, and Caren Chambers, all of Delavan; seven grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Nancy Walsh.

Dick graduated from Delavan High School in 1959, then went to work for Pabst in Peoria for four years, then Panhandle Eastern Pipeline for 13 years.  He also worked for Ag-Land FS for 24 years, retiring in 2007.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Delavan and a member of Delavan Masonic Lodge.

Cremation has been accorded. A private graveside will be at Prairie Rest Cemetery at a later date. There will be no visitation.  Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Delavan is handling the arrangements.
