Ricky Choate Obituary

Ricky L. Choate, 76, formerly of Delavan, passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington.

He was born September 15, 1948 in Muddy, IL to Athern L. and Mildred P. Disney Choate.  He married Jane Choate and she passed away February 18, 2020.

Surviving are his daughters, Julie (John) Crutcher and Stacie (Dave) Brehm, both of Delavan; six grandchildren, Cody (Mary Beth) Stewart, Bethany Choate, Britany Choate, Rei Brehm, Billy Brehm, and Kaylie Brehm; one great grandchild, Vayda Rushing; and one brother, Frank Choate of Indiana.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Nita Sailor; and three brothers, Lonnie Choate, Jack Choate, and Robert Choate.

Ricky served in the United States Air Force during Vietnam.

He worked at Caterpillar Inc for 35 years and enjoyed fishing.

A graveside service will be at 12 noon Saturday, September 28, 2024 at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.  Pastor Josh Beutow will officiate. There will be no visitation.  Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Delavan is handling the arrangements.

Memorials may be made to TAPS in Pekin.
