Rita Siebenthal Lamoreaux, 83, of Eureka, Illinois passed away Saturday, November 19, 2022 at the Apostolic Christian Home of Eureka, Illinois.

Rita was born March 18, 1939 in Kewanee, Illinois, to Arnold and Hannah (Moser) Siebenthal. She married Richard Lamoreaux on May 1, 1976 in Phoenix, Arizona. He preceded her in death on January 25, 2021.

Rita was also preceded in death by one sister, Verla Frietsch on February 4, 2020 and one brother, Robert Siebenthal on September 18, 2018.

Surviving is one sister, Ellen McCrorie of Gaithersburg, MD; nieces Karen Lamoreaux Brown of Petoskey, Michigan, Cindi Lamoreaux of Elks Rapids, Michigan, Pamela Lamoreaux-Gregory of Petosky, Michigan, Cathy Frietsch of East Peoria, Illinois, Carol Wu of Freeport, Maine and Terry McCrorie of Toronto Ontario Canada; nephews Jim Frietsch of Deer Creek, Illinois, Bill Frietsch of Mt. Sterling, Illinois, Bob Frietsch of Mapleton, Illinois and Gary McCrorie of Charlotte, North Carolina.

Rita graduated from Eureka High School in 1957. Rita was a bookkeeper at Schumacher & Grimm in Goodfield after high school. Rita moved to Phoenix where she met Rich. Rich and Rita traveled between Arizona, Illinois and Michigan later making their permanent home in Eastport, Michigan. After Rich passed away, Rita moved back to Eureka in 2021 where she made her home in an apartment at the Apostolic Christian Home.

Throughout Rita’s adult life, she was always helping people, including caretaking for elderly people when she lived in Arizona. When she arrived back in Eureka at the Apostolic Christian Home, she reconnected with some of her friends and she was always helping with groceries, taking daily walks and enjoying meals with her friends.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
