Robert E. Barnette, 53, of Morton, formerly of Tremont, passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2021 at his home.
He was born November 21, 1967 in Pekin to Jay T. and Shelby J. Biggers Barnette. He married Missy Risinger on December 3, 2005 in Tremont and she survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Clay Barnette of Manito and Ty Simpson of Manito; two daughters, Ashley Droege of Tremont and DayLynn Chapman of Pekin; five grandchildren, Levi, Landon, Bentley, Stella and Jaxson; one brother, Steven (Rhonda) Hancock of Tremont; two sisters, Cherie (Ernie) Nattier of Tremont and Stacey (Matt) Shipton of Delavan; and his labs, Hank and Willie.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Robert was a truck driver, last working for Ken Trimble Trucking Inc. in Mackinaw for the last 15 years.
He served in the United States Army during Desert Storm.
He was a member of the Tremont Masonic Lodge.
Robert loved the outdoors, deer hunting, canoeing, and being on the water.
His funeral will be at 12:30 pm Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Northfield Christian Fellowship in Tremont. Pastor David Craig will officiate. A visitation will be from 10:00 am to 12:15 pm before the service at the church. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in Tremont with military honors accorded.
