Robert Kiehl Obituary

Robert “Bob” G. Kiehl, 92, of Delavan, passed away Monday, November 11, 2024 at his home.

He was born November 28, 1931 in Palatine, IL to Raymond and Rose Kiehl.  He married Sharon K. Long on April 12, 1962 in Delavan, and she passed away September 17, 2001.

Surviving are three daughters, Kelly Berry of Denver, CO, Teresa “Teri” (Mike) Miller of Delavan, and Bobbie (Roger) Litwiller of Delavan; seven grandchildren, Sam (Shawn) Carton of Morton, Kyle Taylor of Delavan, Scott (Elisha Beachy) Litwiller of Lowpoint, Jacob Miller of Peoria, Alexandra (Shawn) Litwiller of Bloomington, Jessica (Tanner) Miller of Mount Auburn, and Katlynn (Dawn Hoskins) Miller of Delavan; four great grandchildren with one on the way.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, two sisters, and four nephews.

Bob served in the United States Marines during the Korea War.

He worked at Caterpillar Inc. for many years, owned and operated the Round Table Restaurant, and Pastry Plus Bakery, in Delavan.

He was a member of the Delavan American Legion, was an avid fisherman, hunter, enjoyed working crossword puzzles, and was a devoted Bears and White Sox fan.

His funeral will be at 10:00 am Friday, November 15, 2024 at Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Delavan.  Pastor Scott Litwiller will officiate.  Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm Thursday at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Prairie Rest Cemetery in Delavan. 

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
